Inspirational Women
When I posted the article and video in my post "Stroke of Insight", I did so because it is a well presented and fascinating insight into the brain, how it works, its fragility and strengths.
Also, the personal story of the presenter, her scientific observations throughout and survival of a stroke, is compelling and inspiring.
The additional interest to me is that a client I work with suffered a brain injury some years ago and although she will never fully recover, she remains an inspiration as she is constantly positive, happy and determined to achieve the things she sets out to accomplish.
Would you find the inner strength to continue to pursue your goals despite real life obstacles?
Very shortly after making that post, my mum began suffering mini strokes herself. She's over here for a holiday, which we are thankful about. So as you can imagine it's been, and is, a worrying time for us as a family. Thankfully she has been receiving the very best care locally. Again, when you need them, the NHS delivers.
It transpires that mum, a strong and inspirational woman, actually had a heart attack about 3 months ago and has been having mini strokes on and off, all without actually knowing it! Despite what she has been through, is going through now and is about to go through, she remains strong minded, her sense of humor is as bright and as wicked as ever (as the doctors at the hospital with testify) and she continues, determined to get over this challenge. Hugs mum, we love you :-)
Life presents you with challenges, it's not what happens it's how you deal with them that makes a difference to you and those around you.
Wishing you and all inspirational women well.
