Positive Skills
Do you underestimate your skills set?
Do you have a hobby or interest that could be turned into a viable business, either working from home or on a larger scale?
Do you know what your skills are?
Sometimes we can be so busy juggling our every day lives that we forget just how adaptable we are. Or we fail to continue using our existing skills, which may become a bit rusty or we don't recognise them as skills at all.
As example: I have been a registered Reiki and Indian Head Massage practitioner since 2001 and I have continued providing these services to local private clients. However, I had always looked upon Reiki and Indian Head massage as a separate business offering. In a creative ideas moment I reasoned that these skills should be integrated into my menu of offerings on a wider scale.
Obviously it is not possible to offer reiki massage across the internet or telephone, but distance reiki can be undertaken, which I am qualified to do and enjoy doing. In addition, I have a lot knowledge about Reiki and Indian Head Massage which would benefit and enhance my knowledge of small business and support my mentoring offerings through my develop growth, personal and business success programs.
Therefore, with a little thought and application, I wrote an ebook, interviewed a Reiki Master, made a reiki-insight video and reflection exercise and amended another ebook to support a mind set change. Together, these items, present people with a host of support resources to:
- Reduce and relieve stress
- Reflect on real goals
- Prepare for a Mind Switch
to
I have creative ideas all the time which help clients, but being busy juggling my plates, it took me a bit of time to realise that I could integrate and package my Reiki knowledge skills with my other skills.
So a lesson to readers - sit down quietly, get comfy, paper and pen handy. Think about your skills, past and present, write them down.
Then think of the various ways your skills and knowledge can benefit other people and how you might be able to share that with others.
If you need any support throughout the process, drop me a line.
